minä perhonenpiece, (Weeks Mix)Weeks Cover Only

  • 2027 New

This is a cover from minä perhonen, a brand that creates timeless, all-original garment textiles that are specially dyed, embroidered, and woven to recreate hand-drawn designs.

The popular “piece,” series consists of covers made from scraps of leftover fabric generated during clothing production, which are sewn by hand into a patchwork fabric. By combining textiles made from a wide range of materials and production methods, an entirely new fabric is born.

The Weeks Mix is made of nine different fabrics. In addition to “ballade,” a pattern inspired by a dream of melting snow and flowers beginning to bud, the cover also incorporates textiles such as “forest card,” introduced in the 2025–26 Autumn/Winter collection. The combination was conceived out of a vision of flowers and animals embraced by the forest breeze.

The inner lining is made of light blue cowhide and accented on the top left with a butterfly embroidery.

The pen hook is designed to hold a pen by its clip. The zipper pull is made out of natural leather, and the butterfly-shaped fastening adds a cute touch.

As each piece is cut differently from the original fabric, and the stitching is done by hand on a sewing machine, each precious cover is truly one of a kind.

Fabrics used for the piece, (Weeks Mix)

1. tambourine (2000-01 Autumn / Winter)
Embroidered dots, each with its own character, line up one by one to trace a circle.

2. blumen (2024-25 Autumn / Winter)
“Flowers” in German. These folkloric, nostalgic blooms gently ease the heart.

3. land puzzle (2013-14 Autumn / Winter)
A textile in which the ridges of corduroy form a variety of patterns. The texture and shadows evoke a landscape viewed from above.

4. pomppia (2023 Spring / Summer)
Rabbit faces are rendered in a variety of styles, woven together into a single continuous pattern. This design evokes a sense of the interconnectedness of living things and the world around us.

5. forest card (2025-26 Autumn / Winter)
A textile that reimagines the four playing card suits — hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades — as natural landscapes and living creatures, rendered in embroidery.

6. ballade (2007-08 Autumn / Winter)
A cut jacquard pattern depicting small flowers blooming as the snow begins to melt. The charm of these lovely flowers gives you the sense that spring is just around the corner.

7. skyful (2013 Spring / Summer)
A design featuring a sky scattered with twinkling stars, depicted with embroidered dots of varying sizes and colors.

8. flower fog (2024-25 Autumn / Winter)
A design inspired by the image of tiny flowers drifting through the mist. The fleeting, ephemeral scene is expressed through jacquard weaving.

9. flower leap (2024-25 Autumn / Winter)
A scene of tiny flowers swaying gently in the breeze. The design features a rhythmic pattern of embroidered dots and small flowers.

*The year in brackets indicates when the fabric was first released.

Inquiries cannot be handled by minä perhonen stores

This cover is produced and sold by Hobonichi Co., Ltd. under the design direction of minä perhonen. Inquiries about these covers cannot be answered at minä perhonen shop locations, so please contact the Hobonichi Store with any questions or concerns.

Patchwork patterns vary by cover

While the same textiles are generally used for all patchwork covers, the specific sections of fabric vary from piece to piece. In some cases, fabrics with slightly different colors or patterns may also be included. As a result, each cover has its own unique design.

Fraying may be visible on lace bookmarks

The bookmark features original lace ribbon from minä perhonen, which may show some fraying. If you notice fraying, please do not pull the threads— instead, gently tuck them back into the weave of the ribbon for continued use.

Threads may protrude from embroidered area

Please note that embroidered areas may contain threads that protrude from the design.

Leather may contain preexisting wrinkles and marks

In order to allow customers the enjoyment of all-natural leather, the leather is processed in a way that retains its original feel. This may leave imperfections visible on the surface of the cover, such as wrinkles, scratches, stains, or vein marks.
Depending on the conditions in which the cover is used, natural oils of the leather may emerge and appear as stains. We ask for your understanding for these naturally-occurring characteristics of genuine leather.

Using the pen hook

This pen holder works by holding the clip of a pen. Certain pen sizes or shapes may make it difficult to close the cover zipper.

Color transfer may occur due to friction, pressure, or moisture

Color may transfer to other items through friction or prolonged contact. This risk increases when the cover is exposed to water or sweat, so please take extra care when carrying it near clothing or other belongings.
