Gyukotsu Ramen
People from Tottori might think it’s nothing special, but ramen made with beef bone broth is quite rare across Japan. I recommend a shop called “Inoyoshi” in Kurayoshi City. They sell boxed ramen that you can enjoy at home. Absolutely delicious, too!

Tottori has been known as one of Japan’s top cattle-raising areas since the Edo period. After the war, ramen made with beef bone broth—almost free at the time—helped sustain people when food was scarce. It’s no exaggeration to say it was a lifeline for the community!

For Tottori ramen, it’s got to be beef bone broth.
I love “Tonnya“ in Sakaikou City. No matter when you go, the staff are always warm and welcoming.

You can really taste the beefiness, and it’s not too heavy.
I can’t wait to eat it again when I visit Tottori!
The “Ramen Goku” I went to before was super tasty!

Horumon Yakisoba
Commonly called “Horu-Soba,” this dish is great for dinner or lunch, but many people enjoy it as a late-night snack after drinking. It’s the kind of food that suddenly makes you crave it! Just thinking about the chewy horumon make my mouth water. A famous place to get it is “Matsuya.”

Su Ramen
The soup has a gentle flavor. I discovered it during my first time living alone in a new place when I was feeling anxious, and it really comforted me. I recommend “Musashiya Shokudo” in Tottori City.

Daisen Soba
The pride of Tottori, Daisen. This soba is made with buckwheat flour that comes from the slopes of the mountain!

Sanin Champon
This is a ramen with a rich vegetable-filled sauce.
It's completely different from the champon in Nagasaki.
I'm addicted to it and visit every week. The champon at “Ajidokoro Shiki” in Hino County is especially delicious.
