Hello, it’s from the Hobonichi Techo team.
On June 28, 2026, we held our very first Hobonichi Techo Meeting Caravan in Kagoshima!

We hosted the event at La-Bungu, a stationery shop within Aeon Mall KAGOSHIMA BAY.



This wonderful space just opened earlier this year on April 24, 2026, as the very first collaboration between Miraiya Shoten and Ishimaru Bunkodo.

Our team this time around was and Miho, the newest addition to our crew.

We were worried about an approaching typhoon right up until the last minute, but the excitement of the event blew all those stormy clouds away. Let’s look back on the day’s festivities through some photos!

■Heading to La-Bungu Kagoshima

On the morning of the event, we arrived at La-Bungu while taking in the beautiful ocean views and the sight of Sakurajima.

Finding ourselves inside an incredibly massive Aeon Mall, we couldn’t help but get pumped up, saying, “This place has absolutely everything! I want to live here!” as we made our way to the event space.

The store is full with delightful stationery and books. It’s the perfect place for techo and stationery lovers!

■The Meeting Caravan Begins!

We started with staff introductions before everyone showed each other their techos.

＼ Session 1: The Morning Group ／

During this session, we had the pleasure of talking deeply with four wonderful participants. Two of them happened to know each other, and the session began in a warm, relaxed atmosphere after they excitedly discovered they had both been using a Hobonichi Techo.


We set aside time for everyone to try out the TSUKI no IRO stationery series.

This participant uses their daily pages to illustrate their favorite memories from each day.



Looking at their beautiful freehand drawings, they shared, “I always use an erasable pen (Frixion) just in case I make a mistake, so I don't have to worry.” It made me wish I could draw like that...!

Another participant, who uses a Tragen cover, had a fascinating approach to their monthly calendar. They use a faint gray highlighter (Mildliner) to create a clean countdown of the days remaining until a big event.


It looked so official that I almost had to double-check my own techo.

Because the gray is so subtle, they mentioned you can easily write right over it. This is definitely a clever trick I want to try out in my own book!

Our next guest was using a Weeks as a dedicated fandom journal to keep track of all their favorite things. During the session, they mentioned, “I really want to start a baseball tracking journal, too!” and actually ended up buying an extra Weeks and a Tragen cover on their way home.

Knowing that our Caravan inspired someone to discover even more joy in their journaling made us incredibly happy!

＼ Session 2: The Afternoon Group／

For our second group, we took a deep look into the techos of 7 participants.



This participant was having a wonderful time customizing their layouts by utilizing printouts from our online Download City.



From setting personal goals to reflecting with self-analysis, they treat their techo like a true lifelong companion. There were so many ideas we’d like to try out ourselves in their setup.

Another visitor showed us how they manually add a customized hourly timeline axis to the blank left page of their Weeks.



They are an avid user of our Stappo, sharing how convenient it is to carry their entire stationery kit straight into the living room whenever they are ready to write.



This next participant uses a Weeks for foreign language studies and a HON as a makeshift multi-year journal.


They’ve split the daily pages in their Unsodo HON (from 2025) into 5 year segments.

It brings us joy to see someone fall in love with a specific design and find a way to use it for a long time. After the session wrap-up, they picked up an Avec, too! I’m glad people were inspired to write more through this event.

While we could only highlight a few stories here today, getting a firsthand look at everyone’s well-loved techos that accompany them through their unique daily lives was a very precious experience. Seeing how thoughtfully and personally people use their techos left us feeling incredibly fulfilled and happy!

●Bonus

Here is a quick look at how the four of us explored the sights of Kagoshima during our very first visit!

The day before the Caravan, being an absolute ramen fanatic, I arrived a little earlier than the rest of the crew and headed straight for “Kagoshima Ramen Tontoro.”


The chashu (braised pork) was tender, and the rich sweetness of the fat was simply irresistible.

Next, I paid a visit to the Kagoshima City Aquarium. Getting to see the massive whale shark, a wide variety of sea slugs, and the unique marine life native to the Kagoshima coast made for a wonderful afternoon.



Afterwards, I met up with the rest of the crew, and we traveled to the famous Sengan-en garden, which offers sweeping, majestic views of Sakurajima across the water. We were even able to tour the historic villa interiors, giving us a deep appreciation for the local history.





That evening, we enjoyed Kagoshima specialties: kurobuta pork shabu-shabu and chicken tataki!

After the Meeting Caravan wrapped up, we made sure to grab some famous Yamakataya-style stir-fried yakisoba noodles and Shirokuma shaved ice at the airport.



Thanks to all the recommendations we received in the pre-event survey, we were able to enjoy so many incredible places and dishes.
