TSUKI no IROBlotting Paper

  • 2027 New

The Hobonichi Techo uses 12 soft colors across the book. The TSUKI no IRO stationery series incorporates these colors into simple designs. As part of this lineup, we’ve created this blotting paper.

Blotting paper is used to prevent the ink from fountain pens and other writing instruments from transferring to other pages or smearing. The thick, highly absorbent, quick-drying paper soaks up any excess ink.

The design of the TSUKI no IRO Blotting Paper features free-flowing lines that look as if they were drawn with a pen, along with ink splotches that appear to have dripped onto the page. As layers of color build up each time you blot ink, the paper takes on a beautiful, ever-evolving appearance — an item that only grows in character with use.

This version is made using letterpress printing, giving it a lovely tactile texture you can feel with your fingertips. Look closely, and you’ll notice that each sheet has its own subtly different character. Here and there, touches of silver foil catch the light with a soft sparkle.

Each pack contains five sheets, which are designed to fit inside all Hobonichi Techo books, including the Original, Cousin, and Weeks. In addition to fountain pens, they can be used with any ink-heavy pen, as well as stamps and seals.

There’s more to the TSUKI no IRO stationery series. Enjoy exploring the world of all twelve colors. See the full lineup of the TSUKI no IRO series here.
