The Hobonichi Japan Railway Map covers the railway systems of some of Japan’s largest cities: Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Sapporo, Sendai, Kamakura, and Hiroshima. It includes JR lines, subways, and private railways all on a single sheet, and remains one of the most popular items in the Hobonichi original stationery lineup each year.
Its most distinctive feature is that the map is updated every year based on crowd-sourced feedback from people all over Japan—each route is reviewed and fact-checked by locals who actually use it. It may just be the most thoroughly proofread railway map in Japan.
The 2026 edition is available in three sizes: Original size, which fits in the pocket of the A6 Original cover; Cousin size, which is twice the size and fits in the pocket of the A5 Cousin cover; and Weeks size, which can be tucked neatly into your Weeks book.
*This railway map was created using information current as of March 2, 2025, and was proofread by readers of the Hobonichi website during the period up to March 12, 2025.
