Instead of having names, each crayon is marked with a number representing the month in which the photo was taken. This is because each mountain’s color changes from moment to moment, depending on its history and the season. The stick also bears the latitude and longitude of the location of the mountain the color is taken from.



Crayons of the Seas was created with colors extracted from satellite images of twelve different locations across the seas of the world.
In this series, the colors also do not have names, and only the latitude and longitude for the locations within the seas is inscribed onto the stick.
