The Hobonichi 5-Year Techo Gift Edition is a perfect gift box for the Hobonichi 5-Year Techo that comes with a specially made embroidered cover, pencil board, and a small card, all neatly arranged in a beautiful box.
We created this box with designs by embroidery artist and illustrator iyo okumi. The cover and pencil board are all designed by okumi. The theme of this set is “haconiwa,” which means “miniature garden” in Japanese.
Inside the box is another turquoise blue box that contains the regular sized Hobonichi 5-Year Techo (2026-2030), its cover, a pencil board, and iyo okumi’s brand card.
Specially made for this set is a linen cover machine-embroidered with iyo okumi’s design of a beautiful miniature garden. The pattern designed by okumi was machine-embroidered. The bright green garden is filled with white and yellow flowers blooming here and there. Look closely to find animals as well. The storybook-like scenery matches the delicate embroidery well, creating a romantic atmosphere.
At the center of this garden is its residence, sitting down and reading a book.
The back cover has cute butterflies fluttering around.
The cover comes with a pale yellow bookmark that has a tassel at the end.
The pen hook on the inside right of the cover can hold a pen by its clip.
The pencil board is illustrated with the garden in colored pencil. You’ll find a beautiful leopard on the top left.
We also put a lot of thought into the box. The lid of the box depicts animals playing with lively plants. The center has the words “Your Story” foil-pressed in gold.
When you close the cover of this box, you’ll see the design itself looks like a book. The spine is decorated with animals in gold-foil print.
The inside of the box illustrates the garden as well, making this box itself just like a miniature garden, which in Japanese is “haconiwa”, literally translating to“box garden.” You can store your 5-Year Techo and other favorite items and stationery in this box to create a special place just for yourself.
We hope that you will grow your 5-Year Techo like a miniature garden, piling up your precious memories, and that it will be as fruitful and rich as the flowers in the garden. It’s not just a great gift for friends, but also for yourself. Spend wonderful five years with this edition.

The Tomoe River paper designed for planners is known for its thinness and smooth writing surface. However, depending on the type and amount of ink or pen used—as well as environmental conditions—some ink may bleed through or take longer to dry. We recommend testing your pens on an inconspicuous area first, or using a pencil board or blotting paper for best results.
The pen hook of this cover is designed to hold a pen by its clip.
