The Moomin series was created in 1945 by Tove Jansson—Finland’s beloved author, painter, and artist. Set in Moominvalley, the stories follow the gentle and curious Moomintroll; the dream-chasing and romantic Moominpappa; the warm-hearted and nurturing Moominmamma; the mischievous and strong-willed Little My; and the freedom-loving, solitary Snufkin—a cast of unique characters embarking on delightful adventures. We’ve created a special cover for the Hobonichi 5-Year Techo featuring artwork from the beloved Moomin stories.



Written Memories is a leather cover designed to look like a book for writing your own personal story. Its calm and subdued tones make it a great option for adults too.









The cover illustration shows a scene from the novel Moominsummer Madness where Moominpappa earnestly rewrites the script for a play to be performed with his friends. Beneath the artwork, a Finnish phrase reads: “A tale of 5 years—a book like no other in the world.” The sturdy navy leather is stamped in an even darker shade of navy foil to preserve the refined, understated look.









The back features a diagram of the theater, drawn by Emma the theater mouse, also foil-stamped in dark navy.









The same Finnish phrase from the front is stamped on the spine, like the title of a book.









Inside the cover is a printed map of Fir Tree Bay. The right pocket is foil-stamped with a Finnish phrase meaning “happily ever after,” wishing you a wonderful five years of memories to record. A bright red bookmark contrasts beautifully with the elegant cover. There’s also a pen hook that holds a pen by its clip.
