This leather design is specially designed to fit snugly around your Hobonichi Techo book while keeping it slim and comfortably portable. It does not contain butterfly stopper pen holders, and pockets are kept to a bare minimum.

For the 2025 edition of Taut, we selected brown leather with a beautiful luster: the “Alba Lux” by “Yankee,” a tanner established in 1989 in Tuscany, Italy. The finest French belly is tanned with vegetable tannin, with vegetable oil and grease added to give the leather its unique softness. You can enjoy the full charm of deep Italian leather, carefully created with the power of nature.

Slim cuts into the leather interior allow it to hold cards the size of a credit card or business card. The pen hook on the right side is designed to hold a pen by its clip.

The cover contains a small, simply designed bookmark made of the same leather as the cover. The bookmark is debossed with the Hobonichi logo.

Each cover has its own unique take on the texture and character.

The Hobonichi Techo leather covers are made with all-natural materials that have their own unique appearance. Every leather cover is a one-of-a-kind, all-natural product, so you can feel good knowing your cover is the only one like it in the world. Here are some of the unique characteristics you can expect to find.

Taut (Brown) was designed as a cover for the Leather series, which allows you to experience the beautiful natural texture of the leather. We made it simple so you can fully enjoy the charm of the high-quality Italian leather.

Yankee’s “Alba Lux” was selected to use vegetable-tanned leather carefully dyed by artisans for this cover. Italian artisans hand-dye this leather, applying layers of coatings. Ecological wax is applied for a rich luster and touch.

The leather has a luxurious and elegant feel, and the natural gradation of color that comes from tanning is distinctive. The gradation of the color varies for each item, making it the one-and-only beauty. The natural leather also softens and becomes more comfortable in your hand. Another advantage of leather covers is that even the scratches and stains remain as proof and memories of the time spent with you. We hope you can spend a long time together and make it your own.
