Stylist Masako Ito produces the “Weeksdays” project, which has its own articles and online shop within Hobonichi. The online shop includes exclusive products that aren’t sold anywhere else. The shop name combines “weeks” and “days” to express hopes that customers have something fun happen every day in their lives.
This is the third daily desktop calendar to be offered for Weeksdays.
The 2025 edition features 365 days’ worth of content. On weekdays and Saturdays, you’ll find photos taken by Masako Ito over nearly a year. For the cover and Sundays/holidays, photos styled by Ito and captured by photographer Suguru Ariga, who shoots almost all of the styled images for Weeksdays, are printed in a simple layout alongside the date and day of the week.
To ensure you’ll never tire of flipping through it, the sequence of daily photos has been carefully selected by Ito. As you turn the pages, you’ll feel the passing seasons—you might find a photo of what you ate yesterday appearing the next day!
The format is sure to be nostalgic for those who recognize it, as it nearly matches the size and shape of a Polaroid photo. The pages may be thinner than one, but when you first start using this desktop calendar the total thickness of all the pages together comes out to about 3 cm (1.2"). You can either set the calendar flat on your desk or assemble the stand that’s available by slits on the chipboard on the back of the calendar.
Once you’ve torn off a page, you can repurpose it—stick it in your planner, use the back as a notepad, write short notes, or pin your favorite pages on the wall. You could even stick a page onto a container when you’re preserving food, using it as a date label. Beyond serving as a calendar, the pages function as charming paper for various creative uses.
This calendar feels like a mini photo book, allowing you to incorporate Masako Ito’s unique style into your daily life. It’s a calendar that makes you excited to flip the page every day, wondering, “What kind of photo will I see tomorrow?”
The Weeksdays Daily Desktop Calendar has entered its third year.
Every time we work on creating it, I’m reminded that our daily lives are filled with countless “wow!” moments.
This calendar isn’t just for keeping track of days. You can use it as a memo, write a message on it and include it with a gift, pin it to your wall… Its versatility is one of its best features. This calendar is quite the multitasker!
